REVIEWS

Soul Seduction - The Truffle label surely making a name for itself amongst the more twisted club fans. This two-tracker from Don Cash is a seriously tweaked out affair, with "Star Dust" featuring a bizarre spoken-word vocal over a new wavey 80's synth and throwback electronic drums. Pop meets punk meets new wave disco here. On the flip Steve Yanko's mix is more of a clubby proto-house kind of groove with the vocal getting full exposure. Brennan Green fans will be delighted with this oddity.

Picadilly - Toronto's Truffle Music throws another curve ball in the shape of Don Cash's "Star Dust", which joins that growing field of fairly indefinable house music. With its quirky vocals, rudimentary retro keys and cluttered handclaps, it garners the disco-not-disco props whether it likes it or not. On his remix, label boss Steve Yanko doubles the length to near eight minutes and nudges it in the right direction for a bit more dancefloor edge.
